You need to fix the noise problem first. After you fix the problem, do a compression test. You don't want to boost on a motor that will blow the minute you boost. While you have the motor tooken apart go ahead add some aftermarket pistons, add some arp rod bolts.

I just tuned an b18b on 10 psi with a .53 compressor a/r and a .63 a/r and it made 260 on a pretty conservative map as far as timing is concerned on totally stock internals with 2 1/4 exhaust on a stock style muffler! Its all in the tuning my friend.

well i removed the valve cover i found out that one of the retainers in the intake valve on #3 cyl came off 2 broken rocker arms like in 2 cyl og timing belt as far as i know jump like 2 teeth on the intake side cam i removed the head and pistons have a little carbon but no piston damage no valve contact so the bottom end looks good so far going to removed the oil pan and taking the pistons and rods out what piston ring should i use and head gasket do u guys think i should use for turbo ho and i am going with arp head bolts like i said going with stock pistons and rods. thanks

I'd do a compression test before I took it apart to see how the bottom end was looking. Then I'd address the Head issue and when I put it back on I'd add some ARP head studs. Leave the bottom end alone, a stock LS bottom end is more than enough for the power you want to make, assuming compression is good.

stock head gasket if your sticking with the stock 81mm bore. Cosmetic if your going bigger. Just up grade to the gsr oil pump.

use the ls water pump, gsr water pump has 22t. Use the ls gear where your oil pump is located.
