If your staying with a mostly stock bottom end I would just turbo it, due to its lower compression.

turbo: you can use a oem headgasket and that's really up to you if you want to use arp, it's better since it will be under pressure.

All motor: If you want a gas friendly motor than i wouldn't go past 11:1 (you can use oem pistons to bump the compression up i.e. p30, pr3, p72, p73, and pct.) If you want to make power bump that compression to 12.5:1 on up. You can get forged pistons for this.

Your valvetrain for you to rev higher to 8k you need a good valvetrain. Get your crank balance and buy a girdle. If you don't your bottom end will come apart. Girdle help by strengthen up the bottom end.

Which one are you doing first? Boost? All motor?

All motor: p30

Boost: keep it stock compression or if you want to bump it up just a little then put the p72 in. But better to put forged in.

Also, plan to spend quite a bit on tuning and I would if at all possible... if its in your budget by a water/methanol injection kit.
