Hi All

I've been lurking here for a bit and just signed up... great info for the non-vtec crowd!! I had a y8 until I spun a bearing recently... now i've gone B20 and am quite excited to get the car back (should be back this week)...

In regards to cams... I had stage 2 comp cams in my built d16 and had no problems with emissions... but if I go to a stage 2 will a non-vtec engine will it be acceptable at emission testing time? i'm in ontario and have to go through e-testing every two years...

that said... i've been reading a bit about b-series engines but have had all my experience with d-series till now... any suggestions on what cams to get? I've been reading that the Crower and BC cams seem pretty good... any other suggestions?

thanks!

crower/BC and crane are all pretty good. i cant speak from experience in regards to emissions though because our emissions test for 96+ vehicles consists of simply looking for ECU codes. so basically my crower 404's have passed emissions 2 times now

B20 won't pass if the tech looks at the engine code since it's condsidered a light truck/SUV engine.Should pass a test only though

i kinda find it strange that they would base it on the engine and not actual emissions in that case... what if you convert your engine to an alternative fuel vehicle?

Well there is a guy out here that will "convert" it to propane and then take it all off and your car is forever smog exempt.

Another trick is to burn 2 chips for your ECU...one stock, one performance...... 8) Go stock for emissions....
