well ive been quiet lately mostly becaus ei havent really driven my car alot, it seems like if its not one thing its another. had a intermittent short that was blowing my alt fuse rendering my car useless, then my well worn ACT clutch that ive been nursing finally died so i swapped in a ebay special XTD stage 3 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-01-INTEGRA-GSR-TYPE-R-XTD-STAGE-3-RACING-CLUTCH_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33730QQihZ009QQitemZ190106222904QQrdZ1 and i got to say so far its been worth the 150 shipped for sure. grabs super hard, alot different than my old slipping ACT street disc. install was straight forward but its just a clutch so i didnt snap any fancy photos...

on to the good stuff now

so right after i get the car runnin again after replacing the clutch not 2 days go by before i hear a dreaded rattling sound and an exhaust leak. take a look and my POS header cracked at the primary. that made it crack # 3 so it had to go.

ordered up a profab header from camp1320.com for a real sweet price (450 shipped) and this is what i got in the mail today

ill take pics of the old dented header i am currently rockin... i expect the ground clearance to be waaaayyy better than my previous header

no install pics today, i just finished right at dusk

what a PITA to install... first off the header hits the radiator shroud and oil pain wich is no big deal and i knew this but it made for a long install. put it on, doesnt fit, take it off, trim/bang, try again and again and again.

once i finally got it in i was in for a treat, the O2 bung was directly below the steering rack. so back off it came and i had to go track down a weld in o2bung. then i had to find some form of a plug for the unused one it came with.

other than that the install went fine, i had to convert my cat from a 2.5" 2 bolt flat flange to a 2.5" jdm donut style flange but that was pretty easy since the profab sat just about 2 inches shorter than my old header.

heres pics comparing the old and new. the white crap on the old header was to try and stop it from leaking (it leaked since day 1)

they look like the same dimentions but even just a little off can screw up a bunch of things. you will get this with most fabricated car installs

trust me i know...

anyway the header sounds great! its so quiet!!! i am sooo happy. my car hasnt been this quiet since i had a bone stock exhaust on the car. bottom line i knew my old header leaked at the flande and the slip fits but no idea how bad.

ill update with some install pics in a few....

engine bay, note the clearance on the fan. im thinking of getting a push pull type that i can put in the front as a pusher to free up some room.

heres the ground clearance

i should mention i also did a real quick gasket port match on the exhaust side after noting that the exhaust ports were quite a bit smaller than the header/gasket. i still left a small lip for reversion purposes. mostly took material off the sides were it seemed to reall choke the volume of the port.

still up in the air for the motor is a full port job to compliment the valvejob, chamber work and type-R style port i have now. also a possibility is 405a's and ITB's. i think a combination of all 3 would make for a very potent motor. id expect to pick up between 10-20hp with the cams/port job and a whole lot of midrange with the ITB's.

unfortunatly untill 1 of these 3 things is done im not going to be dynoing again :(

great lookin pics. i love that new header look. all shiny and untainted lol. thats awesome that it is quiet, i love more stock sounding exhaust where the motor can over power the sound of the exhaust.
