(red badge has since been changed to and OEM "H" due to someone stealing the front and back one)

its a work in progress..nothing flashy..i just need a little more from the speed department..cause this is the stable of cars my friends own..
-91 300zx tt
-97 supra tt
-02 roush mustang stage 2
-93 DA integra with 96 gsr swap
-07 pontiac g6 (yes even this beats me)
-07 v6 mustang (this beats me too..modded tho)

so as you can see im a little behind speed wise..im tired of being the slowest guy..so what do you guys think..i was thinking type-r swap..but suggestions from vets like you guys would most definitely be appreciated..thanx

Hey welcome to the site man. If you want to build your car for speed you first need to look at your budget. A legit B18C gsr engine install runs at least $3500. If you build your current engine, you can reach GSR hp territory and itll be cheaper. Are you looking to go the NA route or FI?

thanks for the welcome bro!..well..budget wise..its not going to be alot since toyota just laid me off due to it being slow..but i would love to do an NA setup..im pretty sure i wont touch the z,supra,or the roush but im hoping to at least hang with the other guys..i was talking to my home girls boyfriend and he said instead of saving to go gsr, save a little extra and go type-r. what do you guys think?..hoping to go b16 tranny with ls 5th for freeway since i drive alot. so budget wise would it be cheaper to build my LS? go LS-V? LS-T? or just keep saving for a swap?

In my opinion the B16 engine is over rated. The B18c is a much better engine, it has more low end torque. You can open up a b16 engine to 1.8l and have some crazy compression, but you can open up a b18c engine to 2.0l and have a lot more low end torque to fly off the line. Like the old saying says, theres no replacement for displacement.

The cheapest in the long run is to build your ls, it is more reliable than the quasi LS-V or and LS-T.
Just build, cp pistons, eagle rods, crower valve springs and retainers, cams, balance crank.

leave the pcv valve on, and get the car tuned when you get cams most def.

Stage 2 cams are fine as long as you get a good tune and understand that you are going to need higher octane gas. When you get new cams you need new springs and retainers from the same company you get your rods from.

Yeah the block is good. If you can drive it, then its good. Make sure that all edges of the combustion chamber are smooth to prevent hot spots. A requirement for high a hp NA build is porting. You need to have a properly ported head. Even a mild-port job will do.
