Okay, so my buddy has a EG sedan, GSR swapped. He purchased the car swapped.

Car has no heat currently, and we have no damn where to even begin to figure out how/where to get it fixed?

What do I start checking first?

After you check for the heater core... check the heater valve under the hood on the firewall. Not sure how EG's are but its a valve and should have a little arm sticking off it with a cable attached to it.

first question, does the blower motor work? 2nd question, how long does it take for the temp gauge to read operating temperature.

If the blower motor works then you can cancel that out.

Next, there are 2 hoses going through the firewall, one is the inlet to the heater core, it will have a pastic casing on it with a cable and a lever, check to see that it is moving, if it is moving, feel the hoses, the inlet hose should be warm. if its not, then go to your main rad hoses. Honda uses a Reverse flow radiator, meaning the fluid comes UP through the radiator, Therefore the thermostat will be in the lower hose, After you have had the car running for a while, feel the top hose, it should be warm, if the bottom hose is still cold or cooler then the top, You need a thermostat. it should open at around 196degrees. You can take the thermostat out and read the temp on the back, put it in boiling water with a thermometer and moniter its movements.

The cause of this is When your motor is cold, the Thermostat holds the coolant inside the motor to heat up faster because it creates alot of heat. When it reaches operating temperature the thermostat opens letting the coolant flow trough the rad. Most faulty thermostats fail in the OPEN position to prevent holding the coolant in the motor and over heating. most likely your thermostat is stuck open, flowing the coolant through the rad and preventing the coolant from heating up

sorry for the big write up lol hope this helps.
