was up everybody just done building my engine but facing a problem after puting everything together when i turn the camshaft the valve hit the piston only can turn it half way my set up , the head : 98 ls, crower 404 & supertech valve spring retainer , stock b20b block just got arias piston compression 11.85:1 , coz they told when i have after market piston dont worry about the valve hit the piston ,, any body have any idea whats the problem thnx

i dunno, did you clay the engine? did you check piston to valve clearances?

no i didnt do that but they told me when i have after market piston u dont need that , but how u check the valve clearance ,

youll probably be fine, 404's arent that big and neither are LS valves but always clay to be sure. aftermarket pistons usually have pretty deep valve reliefs for larger vtec valves and larger cams.

thnx everybody just did DA valve clearance but DA problem was i put DA piston rong way now got my engine together can wait till next week 2 drop my engine , thnx everybody again :wink:

Grammar correction: it's "duh" not "DA"... :wink:

If I take your first post literally you said you were turning the cam? I'd like to assume you had the cam timing set and the belt installed so the cam & crank were turning at the same time...
