H2B with B16 trans would rip hard! You can score longblocks from a shop for around $1200 if you shop good. A new H2B kit is pretty costly, between $1000 and $1200 with mounts per application. Yikes. Uses complete axles, linkage, etc from B-series though.

Well I figured $1,200 for the complete evolution kit or $850 for the Quarter Sports kit which doesn't include the mounts and uses your existing b-series mounts.Depending on how money is I would like to go with the evolution kit.And the block would be another $1,200 and rywire conversion harness is about $300 not including the cost of the civic ex/si harness or the prelude harness.Plus a clutch which because I like to over do things would be another $350-$400...So it really does end up costing the same as my build and it can be BAR'd which is of my main concern because I don't want to get busted.Oh and then you have to factor in the cost of some drag radials lol.

Well the Quartersports kit still requires mounts to make it work in each application, that cheaper kit only mates the block/tranny/flywheel stuff together. They still sell $1200 kits with the mounts for each chassis. And you have to beat in your frame rail to fit it, guess you'd have to decide if it's worth all that. I would think it'd be easier and probably same cost to just get the H22 complete changeover and just swap a shorter final drive in it.

unfortunately theres more to the h2b then just the conversion kit and a H motor.... once you add up everything it can get just as expensive. personally i was thinking real hard about doin up a f20b (accord type R ) figured it would go quite well with my real short gearing.

F20B is a real cool motor. Smaller displacement and a little less torque than the H22, and a little more money but you get the rarity factor and it's still 200hp and option of LSD. And the killer blue-top, or course!

From my understanding if you get the power steering ribs machined off of the crank pulley and remove the balance shaft gears you don't have to beat in the frame at all. Also you need an $80 dollar bracket for the alternator to use a d series alt.Seems like more money but I think its a more reliable swap and has a much higher power potential plus it can be completely legal and make the same power as my built ls dreams

Yeah, a stock H22 lays down a bit over 160whp. I don't think you need a D-series alternator, it's just the D-series a/c compressor you would get the special bracket for. The H alternator sits up high in the front where the p/s would normally go on a B/D series so it doesn't need changing. But the size/position of the H compressor doesn't work in the Civic.

If you wanted more power and had the money to spend you could get the swap, open it up and have the rotating assembly balanced then get the kit that removes the balance shafts & related stuff.
