Anyone know if i have to plug the holes if I'm not reusing the squirter's? If so how? Or can I just leave them?

Also what ring gap do you recommend? JE says bore x .005 for top and x .0055 second on turbo applications. For 3.427 (87mm) thats .017 top and .019 for second. Here's the problem when i measure them about 1inch down in the bore the top is .020-.022. and the second is about the same.

What should i do? Order new 88mm rings and grind them to JE spec or just use them as they came. Oh yeah the pistons and rings came together.

Thanks for all your help guys!!

Are you doing the balance shaft eliminator kit? Are you keeping the car as a daily or track? If daily then i would keep it in, if track then take one of the banjo bolt to the nearest hardware store and match up the thread pitch to a bolt or a allen head plug, then just screw it in.

for your ring gap spec. Here is my question you said 87mm is your bore. And your spec. on the ring gap is bigger then the spec. it's called for. I would take a micrometer and measure the size of the bore, measure the pistons. Sometimes shop bore it just alittle big. Make sure the piston ring and piston is the right size. Called to see if it's the right part number. I have had this happen to me before even tho the box said it's the right part number, it doesn't mean it's right. Sometimes they box the wrong part. I would ask to see if they can send you a new set if your willing to send your set in.

If you're not reusing the squirters, you need to find a bolt with the same thread, but shorter(or get a spacer) to go where the original bolt went.

As far as ring gaps go, definitely order some new rings.
