im running 404's i got my car street tuned at Night and anyways.

Does anyone feel a considerable difference racing during the day and the night?? I know theres supposed to be alil difference just cause of the colder air, but when im driving, it feels like a totally different car between the 2.

I keep racing my buddies B16EG(basically 15sec flat car) and im beating him by only a couple cars during the day. I raced this 97ish Z28 Camaro from a 2nd gear roll and it was dead even all 3 races at night.

Since i have G-tech i guess i could easily answer my own question by running it in both temps and see the difference if there is any.... i just wanted to know if anyone else felt the same thing

1/4 14.45 during the day

honestly there is a little bit of a difference running in the day and night...how i solved my problem and got my motor to run at more consisitant temps. in the day and night is i bought a hondata intake manifold gasket and ran a cold air intake instead of a short ram

i also re-routed my coolant lines as well on the IM...those coolant lines that go to the IM are useless...all they do i help the IM warm up for in the winter...i took all those off so that the IM air stays cooler

when driving your car, the air intake temp shouldnt be more than 25 degrees higher than the outside temp...when i was driving my car when it was about 90 out...my IM temp was around 130 but when i did the following mods to it, it settled below 115.

eliminating my TB coolant lines and installing a thermal IM gasket made a huge difference in my IAT. wether or not this translates directly into lots of HP when its hot out i dunno but it made me feel better.

even with a short ram (as long as a short ram can be in my engine bay) my IAT's dropped alot and not stepping on the gas makes them go right to ambient. before it would just heat soak horribly and take a lot of WOT time for IAT's to drop.

yea i dont really think it translates to increased HP, but it just keeps the temperature more constant

well ill put it this way, intake temps well over 100 like i had certainly werent helping HP but i doubt theres a huge gain. i dynoed before and after but i had done quite a few things as well (Like larger TB, changed intake etc) and even still there wasnt a huge difference.

yea, well i know when my intake temps were high...i wasnt making as much power cuz the hondata noticed the increased temp and thus was taking fuel out to compensate for the increased temps.
