i've searched this site as well as others, can't find a satisfactory answer. question is, will stock ecu handle the bump in compression. i have the pistons on the rods, and want to just drop them in and go. money is an issue, so tuning, cams, etc., are not options right now. will i be ok using 93 oct? anyone tried this sucessufully?

Think about it.

Stock LS compression is 9.2:1
an LS w/PR3's will net ~11.3:1

Do you think the stock ECU will handle this well? No, it won't. The ECU does not learn, therefore can not account for the added bump in compression.

4sd4dr is right...with the higher compression=more demand for fuel...with a stock ecu you will run lean and possibly damage ur motor...if anything just buy a chipped ecu...my friend bought one from phearable.net...you give them the specs of ur motor and what it has done and they give you a hella good basemap that will account for it...
