Hi everyone, im installing a B18b (95 motor with 80,000kms/50,000 miles) in my 89 Civic si hatch. i got the motor for free, so my motor budget has turned into my NA-build budget.

im not reaching for the stars or any unrealistic goal. i will be happy with 160+whp.

heres what ive decided on so far, for my mild build:
- Crower 62403-2 stg.2 cams
- Blox intake manifold
- Blox 70mm throttlebody

havent yet decided on a header (not sure whats going to fit on the ED). the head is being redone/rebuilt at a local shop. they are also going to do a port polish, and i might also get a 3-angle valve job if its worth it.

i was thinking of having them balance the crank as well, as i was interested in having it rev to 8000. but the dyno charts of those Crower cams seem to show them finishing their powerband at around 7500, so it may not be worth my time.

my big question is, will these mods (along with tuning) get me to 160ish whp? or will i need to raise compression? if i need to raise compression, what OEM piston options are there? will ITR pistons work, or are there valve clearance problems?

You'll want to up the compression since your all motor. 9.6.1 isn't very high for all motor. And when you do change the rods too, because u can rev past 7500 just depends one your build. I can definetly rev to 8 or higher I make power all the way to my redline which is 7500 but I want to change out the rods first. Also get a full exhust header with 2.5 collector and full catback exhust with 2.5 inch piping. 404's would be better for your goal. O yeah I use 403's.

whats going this is what i would do i would buy some R.S mechine pistons 81mm or 81.5mm bore domed piston you should see around 11:1 comp ratio(maybe a little bit higher) but better then the 9:5 that you have now. i would loot at getting some 404's i like those cams. and a raceheader and. you 70mm tb should be good. also get hondata and get it tuned....
