For a class project that I am doing is racing a 1/10th scale electric RC car. It is pretty interesting. I am just not too sure where all to begin at with the car. They want us to go out and find sponsorship so we can upgrade the car and have extra pieces. The school supplied the first car but they also want us to buy a second car. The car is the HPI Sprint 2 Sport. Does anybody on here have any past experience with RC cars?

yeah im not a real fan of hpi cars except for the savage nitro truck...

but hpi sprint 2 is a pretty kool car i dont really like belt drive rc cars not really good to drift in ... drifting in rc is actually really fun ... the only way i had fun in rc is actually breaking them lolz... jump the trucks break them and fix them and then break them again hah

if ur looking for speed i would go with lipo and brushless but that set up is gonna cost u some $ probally around 200 .... yeah what i would do to it is make it jdm yo lolz... they got integra bodys with jdm fronts i think they also have EG bodies... look into it ebay??

maybe you could help me out on this question. I found out that other team took out reverse. is there reason why to do this? and what kind of an advantage would it give?

The tracks that we will be racing on is a slalom course, figure 8, and a road course so we will not drifting. so we will need something that will handle and also will have some speed.

We are basically able to change anything we want except the servo, motor, and the speed controller.

Are there any chasis' that we can go with that would make the car wider? what about some like sway bars and such like that?

okay i get u... u guys are competing with another team same car??
i would get some rubber slicks.. and they also sell some kind of oil thatll make the tires more grippy... tires about $25 for 4 oil thing like $7 ull really feel the difference in the tires

i actually like reverse in my rc cars just in case i hit the wall i dont have to wait for one of the watchers to run and get it... for the body u should install the wing it has really makes a difference in handling..

i say u do get a 3000 or even better battery maybe 3500 u can really feel the difference with the battery... for motor i say u get like a 10 turn modified motor and upgrades the brushes on it... for gear ratios and stuff ill have to kno how many staright aways there are and about how long and how many turns.... but the most important thing is the driver u really got to get used to the car stock and add part by part and drive it to see if u like the change or not...
good luck
lmk if u have more questions

Yes it is the same car that the other team has.

What is the advantage to not having reverse?

What is the difference between the various batteries? can some give more power?

We have to run the 15T motor that comes in the car. are there any upgrades we can do to the motor?

well when i used to racemy rc car they said that it gives u lil bit extra speed but i drove their car and mine and they felt the same to me... so i say u leave reverse just in case u crash

yeah the batteries the bigger the number the more power,, faster car will run longer..

i say you upgrade the brushes go to ur local hobby shop and ask them what kind they have

i say u find out the other teams radio frequency and turn on another controller and mess with their radio frequency ull totally win lolz jk
