i recently put new pads on the rear and had to replace my driver side rear caliper. i also need to replace my brake master cylinder, which i will be upgrading to a GSR unit, but after a day of driving my new caliper wants to stick. it actually almost caught fire. first it was the e-brake cable binding, so i adjusted it. then i ralized the bracket for the cable was causing further binding.so i took 1 of the 2 12mm bolts out to fix the problem. now i noticed when i brake the pads still dont want to fully let go of the rotor. i completely bleed my system starting from the farthest point from the master cylinder so that is good but i can't figure this out. the caliper is a brand new PRO STOP from pepboys. any help would be appreciated as i cant drive my car till its fixed. and i dont want to kill a brand new set of Hawk HPS pads @ 45$ a set. PLEASE this is killing me pluss i want to race at this sundays auto-x. i'm ready to start killing innocent bunnies or something. J/K

no no thanks, i actually thought of that too but i have braided lines. that dosen't nessicarily mean it still wont happen though. i did finally figure it out, and the problem kinda fixed it self. what happened was when i was putting the lines on a year ago (on the rear caliper in question) i couldn't do that one cuz the hard line to brake line was corroded and i couldnt separate them with out damaging the hard line, and i didnt have a small torch to heat it up a bit. so i took it to a shop to have fixed. well they aparently took both rear e-brake brackets off (for whatever reason) and got them mixed when they put them back on. and they are clearly marked "L" and "R". so that caused my problem. and it turned out my e-brake on the left side wasn't seeing full travel and that over time caused binding. hence the caliper locking up. so now i switched them re-adjusted the e-brake and now its all good after a month of riding around and parking using reverse as a parking brake. but what really sucked was i just installed a COMPUSTAR remote start/alarm. and i couldn't use the start feature until i could use the e-brake. but now its all good. thanks for the advice, i appreciate it, and sorry this was so long winded.
