Curious on what the factory rev limiter is on a factory B18a, or B18b. Should be close to the same. And would my build effect that at all?

I'm asking because I just bought the car and it has this build on it. I don't want to over rev it and fuck it up.. Any help would be great.. And the previous owner hasn't msg me back yet..

Mods
B18a with b18b intake
Crower 404 cams and gears
Full head job B18a head, port/polish valves springs etc..
B16 pistons
ACL bearings

I have some other things done.. But those are the important things..

yeah.. That's cool.. But I'm running the B18a rods with the B16 pistons. So nothing forged in there right now... You think I'm still safe to run 8k?

Stock rev limit in B18's is 7200 rpm. If you have 404 you'll need a chipped ecu to raise the rev limit so you can optimize those cams. They say not to rev nonvtec B-series past 8K and thats not because of weak valvetrain its because of the lack of secured valvetrain. Vtec motors have cam girdles and lost motion assemblies that hold the valvetrain in place, our nonvtec's however have whats called floating valvetrain. Its not that this valvetrain is weak its just not steady enough to rev to the moon, add some choppy cams and you've got yourself alot of room for pieces to move about.
