That really sucks man. I really hate losers that do that. I had my ride stolen in 2004. I had just come out of my last final and had all my stuff in my car including dirty laundry and a laptop. When I came out of my test my ride was gone. The police didnt do anything. Lesson I learned that day: get a removable steering wheel w/ lock and a good alarm that encrypts the signal.

Yeah there is some kind of master key and some times other honda keys will start another honda/acura, all you have to do is wiggle it a lil bit. My buddy started my DA9 wit his 97 accord key and used my key to start his brother's crx. If I'm not at home I remove my steering wheel remove my ecu and set the alarm that helps alot.

Gangbangers are too busy to be on line looking for honda keys... Try looking for a preppy kid in a honda bumping your system, you might notice your rims and other parts that belong to you :haha

Sorry for your loss. Something similar happened to me a couple years ago, and I'll never forget that feeling.

But the last time mine was stolen (in October, from right in front of my place) I got a call from some nice people who found my phone number on a business card in my car after it had been sitting in front of their apartment for 2 days. Thieves just wanted to joyride it, I guess, because my wheels and stereo were still intact! Bastards stole some tools and USB flash drives and shattered the ignition cylinder, twisting the steering column slightly, but I'm very lucky. Cops didn't do shit. Apparently a lot of hot cars end up in this parking lot, and the cops know it, but they didn't bother to check...

Since then I've been removing my ECU and stereo at night. A month later, to the day, my apartment's manager knocked on my door, and asked me if I realized my car was out in the middle of the parking lot. Apparently around 3-4 AM, someone pried my window open (by bending the little holder tab back) and unlocked the car. After trying fruitlessly (No ECU, dumbass) to start the car, he pushed it backwards into the lot and tried to push-start it (No ECU, asshole). When that didn't work, he left the car there with the door wide open until it was discovered around 8:00.

I'm ordering a two-way paging car alarm / immobilizer.

Edit:
These thieves aren't usually very smart. The whole reason my car was just sitting there for two days is because it would no longer crank. When I got there and investigated, I realized they blew the ignition fuse when one of the ignition wires hanging out of the steering column shorted on a piece of bare metal. They didn't know what happened and were forced to leave the car there. Once I shunted the fuse and taped up the wires, it cranked beautifully. An immobilizer switch connected to the ignition or fuel system, or to a vital engine sensor, would stump these guys for months. I recommend installing one (and don't tell anyone where it is)!
