just shift where ever your max power is. if full pwer is at 6300 do it there. or 68 do it there. over revin will hurt perfomance. lots of people dont realize that. think cause they can rev to 8200 they have to.example b16a 1st gen sir. 160 hp 113 ft lbs of torgue. at 8200 rpm. 132 hp. 101 foot lbs of torque. that was my dyno last year. made full power at 7600.

With a b18a1 should you shift at 7? or should you shift at 6300 because acura says that 6300 is at its most power at 140hp?? so why go past 6300 then?? any help?

You go past to get the most power under the curve... you want to go slightly past the power peak in most cases so that your upshift falls right back to just before the power peak. Look at a power graph and see how many rpms you're going to use in each gear, then look and see what the best way is to stay at the highest average power level through the WHOLE gear. For most engines, you'll shift AFTER the power peak.

Nice info. Although you have to know your engine's power peak in each gear first :modo

Feel out where your powerband for each gear is, shift to land on the next...whether it be a higher or lower gear.

ADD 10% MORE RPM TO YOUR MAX HP THEN SHIFT, ASSUMING YOUR DOUBLE CLUTCHING YOUR RPM WON'T FALL OFF AS MUCH.. YOUR RPM FALLS OFF EVEN MORE IF YOU DON'T DOUBLE CLUTCH. THERE IS NO NEED TO OVER REV YOU ENGINE.IF YOU WANT IT TO LAST..JUST ASK YOUR CAMSHFT WHAT IT LIKES AND ADD 10%
