I had a friend to give me a ebay short shifter that had broke were the knob goes on, would it hurt anything to make it shorter then re tap it and use it. Thanks

shouldnt do any harm...just be warned ebay shifters are really cheap...my friend broke 3 in a year period lol

would it do any harm to take a stock shifter and cut it shorter or is there some where i can buy a good short shifter that the shifter isnt long.

dont mess with hackin up stock shifters. Short shifters are cheap enough or just dont bother with one period. and from what i've heard and researched, the short throws mess with the tranny-either syncros or linkage not sure- so i dont use one. just my .02
