I am going to vent a little because i see this all the time. people talk all the time about a Brake problem but they spell it Break. the break they use is like a break in a dam or a break in your arm or leg. when what they are wanting is Brake as in the Brake pads and Brake rotors that help stop a car. they act like they know everything and some may call themselves a car geek, but yet they do not know how to spell a very important part of the car. i would hate to try and stop with some break pads, however, brake pads would be great for me. i see it more and more often and it scares me that those same people are working on their cars and their friends cars also. sorry for venting but since there was another thread for venting about HT i figured it was my turn to vent a little bit on this situation.

AMEN! And vice versa: I think this might brake my axle. Oh and another of my favorites: we where gonna got race but decided not to. Come on guys your grammar on a forum depicts your IQ sometimes and gives people a false sense of your level of knowledge. Remember we aren't TALKING to you we are READING your words.

"Brake my axle" is better then trying to stop with some Break Pads. nonetheless it can all be very scary. it is sad that people do not care enough to watch their grammar when that is all we have to depict them by and makes them seem to have a very low IQ or just plain does not know any thing whether it be about cars or in general.

Most definitely agree with you guys.
Sometimes I feel like being the grammar/spelling police, but then I realize some people just don't get it and they don't care. You know?

But yea, I like when people use were in place of where or where in place of were... I absolutely had when people use single letters for complete words... such as...

I C... or R U there...

Oh my.

Ok, thats enough.

little spelling errors can get annoying but the worst is when you get some jackass who posts in all capital letters using street slang. that drives me up the wall. Example:

YO I JUZ GOT B18B. WHAD THINGS CAN I DO SO IT GO FAST!?! I HERD IF I PUT HEADERS ON IT SHE WILL BE BANGIN FAS!

*actually saw that post a long time ago on honda-tech*

Yes the misuse of homonyms (words that sound the same but mean different things) is irritating. Like saying your car is the color read, or you red a book. I guess some kids just got TOO hooked on phonics!

But I agree the e-thuggin' slang typing is the lamest ever. I see people saying "mah" & "muh" instead of "my", and "DA" instead of "the". "Deez", "dat", "wuz"...makes me insane!

I think it's all this friggin' text message crap making everyone type in abbreviations and acronyms like "I C U at DA club dis weekend!" Aaaargh!!! It was painful just to type that example.

EH Y0 I H8 WHEN DEZ PEEPS BE CALLIN THEY CAR BY ITS CHASSIS CODES.

Seriously though 90% of the people who use a chassis code to refere to their cars... has it wrong.

Example ALL ED owners... ALL OF THEM REFER TO THE 88-91 Civic/CRX an ED... when its clearly not... unless its from JAPAN, like directly from Japan.

I mean, shit.

sometimes i would think people might see this thread and actually re-read what they typed so they do not look like illiterate dumbasses. I think since i made this I have seen more and more people that can not spell.

uh dont you remember when you were 15 and knew everything?

i really like when someone asks a question just say for example what do you like better skunk2 cams or blox cams hoping people will say blox and when 50 people all tell them skunk2 they get all pissed off and start telling you why you should like blox. its like why ask in the first place if you already made up your mind.

I honestly do not ever recall acting like i knew something when I did not.

I have seen that a lot where someone asks a question then gets pissed off when 90% of the people disagree with him and he says why everyone should like that company. I hate it so much when people ask a question that they already knew just to see what other people would say.

One thing that drives me up that wall is "ls".

"I just swapped an LS in my ___"

Well that 'ls' motor also came in RS,SE, and GS. Whereas a GSR motor...well,other than a GSR ,what did the c1 come in? hmm? Or type r? What else did the c5 come in? the a,a1,and b1 came in more than just a damn ls though!

wow aren't we all a little testy. next time i post i'll try to remember my dictionary, thesaurus, and my 7th grade english book just so i don't make anyone angry. but really what does it matter if you know what they are trying to convey. granted everything you all are bitching about pisses me off too, but seriously if you get what they are saying WTF does it matter. most of the time they are probably in a hurry or like me at work and shouldn't even be on the site. and it is unfortunate that the majority of people that own and build-i use that loosely- Hondas are usually under 21 and absolutely know nothing about what they are doing except what their retarded 9th grade friends think is cool. but unfortunately unless some one actually does something to weed out those people you may as well pound sand. and someone said something about asking questions they all readdy know the answers to, i do that sometimes just to get another opinion as maybe...usually someone else probably knows better and or has more experience than me. as i will be the first to say even though i think i know a lot, but most of that knowledge is only theory, not actual practice or fact. but yea they piss me off too, i piss me off as well and when i see them i'll just remember to stab them and cut them so deep they wish i no cut them so deep. HA HA, LOL! an jus sos yoos all no, my EG-DA-ED-teg-civik-k20 swapped-ls-vtec but non-vtec turboed-but really suppa charged, preludaccord, waggin hatch is tha bestest fastest thang EVER!!!!!!! so FTW!!!!!! haha!

yea i would say that it really bugs me when people just dont use proper grammar in general...i hate reading posts without verbs and shit...that annoys me a lot...and i cant deal with people that ask very general questions like "what should i do to make my civic/integra fast?" that is a very broad question...people need to figure out what their goals are for the motor and the car overall first before asking those questions...like is it for autox? drag? daily driver? power goals? etc...

I think people need to recognize the correct uses of to, too and two. As well as the correct there, their and they're.

Am I the only one that gets bugged by "headers" too,...

"y0 d@wg I jes god deez headers f0 realz"

Unless you have a "V" block engine, or are actually running two seperate exhaust headers,....ITS A HEADER. ONE DAMN HEADER!!!!!!!!

And when people call stock exhaust manifolds "headers".

I know my grammer aint the best, but I do my best with the rules that are still a little fluzzy but somewhere floating on my head.
