How do I calibrate the stock tachometer so that it matches the engine speed? I feel that is the problem I am having from my previous post (b18b1 cutting out). It is 6k rpms, but the engine sounds like rev limit (you can hear it and plus it cuts out around there).

if its obd1 and you want a higher rev limit get it chipped to what ever limit you want. if you think its off you can take it to a dyno where u can see what rpm your at and get your car tuned at the same time. :-D

the only way to trully know what your rpm is, get a aftermarket tach and wire the tach wire straight from the distributor
