ok well now that i have confused everyone that read my other thread i figured i would start a new one. I have come to the conclusion that i dont really need coilovers and that springs and shocks should be fine. The choices i have narrowed it down to are kyb agx or koni yellow's and tein s tech springs or eibach pro kit or sportlines. Just looking for some imput and any experiences or if anyone has a similar set up. I will be using tein pillowball mounts still :D

check into the gc extended top hats. they can be used with any shock.

if you want performance i wouldnt go with the stech as i have heard, that there springs are way to soft. softer then stock I THINK. your going to want a stiff spring for being that low. to keep the car from humping the ground. i dont know about eibach springs. but for a good riding spring that sits that low. id buy h&r race springs with out thinking about it. i have h&r sports and love the ride. if i want more performance id up the damping on the shocks. but for road trips i can get it set to slightly rougher then stock.

i have the tein S-tech springs and they do not seem to soft to me. they seem pretty stiff. since i put them in when i go home from college and then back up to college i can carry more of my junk then i could before and when i go on trips i can carry more people then i ever could before. i bought the with gold line springs and they seem like crap to me. i have a lot of good things about tein and then s-tech springs. my old springs use to bind in turns and bumps and i dont have that problem at all anymore. but im sure it helps out that i also got some good shocks on it too now.

if i had the money i would have most likely went with koni yellows but i did not feel like spending the money. i bought my springs and shocks on ebay brand new for what the koni yellows would have costed me. it just got the point that i could now wait any longer so i could save money because i had to get it done since i had a nut break off on the rear shock mount plate. i have been very happy with the tein s-tech and kyb agx though.

ok well i have widened the choices to incluse h&r sport and race springs. I was also wondering if anyone had any experience or have heard some info on using teg springs on a civic ie if it say 1.5" drop what would it be on a civic any info like that would be appreciated. Thinking about the teg springs forthe higher spring rates but dont want anything super hard!!! that would not be streetable

adjustable shocks will aid in a smoother ride. but if you dont want a stiff ride then why put teg springs in ? a higher spring rate means a stiffer spring. if you want to be slammed go with race springs. if you are like me and choose to keep drivability (sp) in mind, and dont want to inch over speed bumps go with the h&r sport springs..

KYB shocks shouldnt even be mentioned in the same scentence as koni yellows. the konis are soooo much better. also check out the neuspeed version of the yellows, they have a shortened shock body and are revalved stiffer to match up to the neuspeed race springs. these versions of shocks are actually MEANT to be used with lowering springs unlike most other shocks wich are NOT meant to be used with lowering springs.

IMHO a great combo is neuspeed race springs with neuspeed koni yellows

I love my neuspeed springs. Also keep in mind that even OE replacement KYBs -will- control lowering springs, just not as well as a revalved/adjustable. If you are on a tiny budget, then get poly bumpstops and whatever shock you can afford to go with your lowering springs. It will feel great, and it is a good solution for some.

good choice, you wont regret it.

i mean dont get me wrong, its not like the kyb's are garbage, its just the ride is no where near as nice as the konis even with stiffer springs. the ride on my car got better when i doubled my front spring rates and tripled the rear and used koni yellows.

i did have one of my kyb's struts (rear) blow on me after a year or so but both of my konis struts (rear) blew on me after about 4+ years. the difference though is that the konis are lifetime warrantied.

I was going to say the exact same thing. IMHO Koni yellow/GC coils is one of the best suspension setups you can get.
