What I'm wondering is interchangeability between the vtec and nonvtec motors when it comes to the tbelt? Would it benefit me any to run an ITR waterpump? Would the tbelt/tensioner fit my b18a1?

you cannont run a ITR water pump...this is becuase the ls water pumps are 19T and the vtec water pumps are i believe 22T. this will cause the timing belt not to work...this is off the subject...but when you go to do a ls/vtec...you change the water pump, oil pump so that the timing belt will be adaptable for a vtec Timing belt...the reason the vtec water pumps are more teeth is so when those vtec motors hit the high rpms, the water pumps are still able to spin slow enough to flow water through the block...if you take a ls water pump to like over 8K...the pump is spinning so fast that it is cavitating (basically just producing air bubbles) and thus not getting coolant through ur motor...thats y the # of teeth are different

I'm fairly positive if you got a GSR belt and a GSR waterpump and you'd be fine.

What is CI? Club-Integra? I'm talking about using the GSR timing belt and water pump together, not just one or the other.

I could be wrong.

This thread says you can.

i think 4sd4dr might be right... the only reason i though you couldnt was cuz the vtec head was taller so the timing belt would be different...but if that is not the case then if u combine the two together then u should be able to...the thread he posted seems legit...i know on my buddies ls/vtec that he used a vtec water pump and gsr timing belt and he was straight...

Call me Brian.

I used GSR water pump and timing belt on my LSV, if you were to build a CRVtec then you'd use the same...

CTR, GSR, B16 and ITR have the same pumps.
CTR, GSR, ITR have the same belts.
B16 has a belt all its own.
96+ B Series have the same oil pump
90-95 B series have the same oil pump

Just for future reference.

There are only two water pumps available for B-series motors. A 19T and a 22T. The 19T's came on all LS's before 96 and before 96 the 22T only came on the Vtec motors. 96 up all have the 22T water pump. If you want to use a Vtec water pump you will also need the Vtec timing belt. I upgrade all my B-series that didn't already have them to the 22T. The only difference in the teeth are on the water pump everything else is the same.
