OK, guys. I was just given a '95 LS motor to put in my EG hatch. It has bad compression, so I'm gonna build it.
It will be my DD and has to last cuz we're trying to have a baby.
I want a N/A beast and will probably add a built B16 head when I can afford it, but for now I want to build the block.
Only prob is that the last engine I built was a 5.0 and I'm clueless about this build.
I plan on keeping the stock crank and just having it machined and would like to get 11 or higher compression ratio.
I need the full "grocery list" of parts and advice, to get this thing started.
Pistons, rods, sleeves, machine work, every thing!
Help me out, guys. Once a baby comes, I'm out of time.

Thanks, in advance, for any help!

well if you want to go budget to help that b16 head come a lil sooner you could just put the p30 pistons in for now and call it aday thatll bump your compression up decent like a 10 somethin i dont recall exact with the ls head. and there would be no need to go big bore or sleeving onless you chose to hone to like .5mm over or somethin but you can still get the p30 pistons in 81.5mm also and they arent to expensive being a genuine honda part. its a cheap build but it does the trick. im sure others will have their own suggestion

I'd even consider sleeving and boring the cylinders for more compression and HP/TQ.
Input, guys?

Again, thanks, for any help!

Thanks, for the input.
This will be my daily driver. I'd like to have AT LEAST 200 WHP, once I add the Vtec head.

Any links to Dave Hickman Racing?

here's the recipe:

1. itr pistons. don't need to go oversize, but i leave it up to you.

2. arp rod bolts. cheap insurance. believe me, you'll thank me for this one and for ...

3. ...this one also: aftermarket springs. kms are the same as supertech, only cheaper. you can keep the oem retainers.

4. a good port andpolish to the head. mainly to make it breath easier.

5. a 4-2-1 header with a 2" collector.

6. a 2.5 exhaust after the header.

7. an aftermarket intake manifold. or just gasket portmatch the oem you have.

what else?

8. a set of cams. crower, bisimoto or rocket.

hope i helped.

also you'll need to modify your ignition and fuel tables in accord to those mods. you can either go xenocron or if you have a friend that can chip your ecu, fine.

x2 on Xenocron. I do my own work but order my stuff through him. Since he is closer to you hit him up. Also tuning is key it will be the difference between your setup make 150whp or 200whp.
