should i go h22 and do you think with $2900 ill have everything installed? engine transmission and labor?

Whats up everyone. just joined this site. My name is frank and i am from miami. ive had 2 civics in the past. 94 EG intake and exhaust stock motor and an EK intake exhaust stock motor both looked real nice. i left the game and recently came back. just purchased a 94 EG coupe shell. no tranny no motor no shift linkage and the car use to be automatic. stick ready now. i have about $2900 for an all motor swap. Any suggestions? this will be a daily driver but i love honda power! i was thinking h22 with bolt on's...

I dont think a 500 lb engine up front is the best idea if you enjoy handling.
A B-series is a more logical swap and cheaper
If you drag race and just drag an h22 a GREAT swap. Be prepared to fully upgrade your suspension with shocks, springs, a thick rear sway bar and heavy duty aftermarket front axles if you plan to make it a commuter. Do the suspension mods first if you want the H22 swap.

Tanks for the info. i guess it will be a lot of money for an h22 to do it right and right is what i want. my alternative is a b18b. i was thinking of buying the block head and parts and having my friends dad build it for $220 plus the price of the block head and parts... i do enjoy handling especially a civic so h22 is out of my head for now. whats ur idea on a built b18b? should i go that way and do you think with $2900 it will be enough to come out right?

honestly if you are going to do a h22, do an H2B. The h series motor doesnt weight that much more than a b series (maybe 50lbs) but once you get some good suspension on it you should be able to take some fast corners...

me personally i dont like the h series motors for their lack of aftermarket support compared to b-series (vtec or non)...doing a h22 swap in an EG is a hassle...if you need to re-do timing or anything like that...the whole motor has to be taken out (atleast from my friends setup = H2B)
