Hey i've been stuck on what route to go woth my civic. I dont know if i should go turbo d series or turbo b series. I already have a ls motor which i was planning to rebuild back to stock get a clutch and get some arp headstuds and rodbolts w/ acl bearings then boost it...Or get some vitara pistons and forged rods and boost my d16...

Basically i wanna hear what you guys think what are the pros and cons..i need help!!!!!!lol

honestly i would ask yourself how much power you wanna make...obviously the ls motors when you build them can handle a lot of power...but my friends built d-series with a gt28rs on it in his EG did 11.9 on slicks and made 350 whp...the main downside to the single cam is that you cannot put a bigger turbo on it compared to a LS motor.

Im looking for 300whp. And with a big turbo i probably can get that number on stock internals(stock rebuild) with some Arp hardware and a good tune.

I know the d16 would have to be built to make those numbers. And the head gaskets like to go out.Also the trannys are not that strong.

they are both good choices but if you are looking to make high numbers then you need to go with the B-series engine, but dont get me wrong we have built a 300hp SOHC VTEC at our shop and it is possible.
