ok so idk if this is a really dumb question but idk the answer to it, im new turbos so here it goes...

with turbos that are internally wastegated that have a certian psi rating for that wastegate, how do you get around it to boost more...like how do you get a turbo that is set at a 7psi wastegate to boost 12.

with a boost controller, wich is worth having on internally gated turbos for the simple fact that you will reach your peak boost faster cause the gate will open instantly instead of creaping open.

basically you set the boost controller to "hide" the boost signal from the wastegate untill your boost level is reached then it allows it to pass.

yeah one you adjust manually usually in the engine bay and the other you might be able to adjust in the car. something like a AVC-R is electric and has all kinds of different boost settings and you can adjust it like you would a AFC while you drive.

wells looks like that jr..got to it first..but in order to increase boost use a boost controller...manual or electronic controller is fine..if you're good with electronics go with a electronic if not use a manual...good brand of manual boost controller is turboxs...
