Hi, I want to put a better spark plug for my high CR B20B. I am thinking in a cold iridium spark plug NGK BKR7EIX-11 .

Can be placed a Vtec Spark plug in a non vtec engine????

Thanks.

vtec has nothing to do with the spark plug and visa versa its the heat range off the plug u want for the type of engine you run if you got laugh n gas or turbo i would get a colder plug other than that get what is recomended its recomended for a reason

putting a colder spark plug in your engine doesnt translate to "better", you use the heat range thats required by reading how the plug is burning, i recently dropped down to a 6 heat range plug from a 7 on my b18b because i felt the 7 was too cold, and the results were exactly what i was looking for, you need to learn how to read your engine conditions by looking at the ends of the plug.

google reading spark plugs and read up on heat range, gap, copper/platinum/iridium, etc. Factory heat range for vtec b18c's is 6, and 5 for non vtec b18b's.

Makes no difference my B18B1 uses the same spark plugs as a B16. In fact I used my B18B1 plugs in my Vtec head since they had under 15k on them.

Yep I used the OEM NGK B18B1 plugs in my LS Vtec since the the plug only had like 8-10K on them, still have the in now. They where the same plug that came out of the B16 I used. Dont Know about the GSR or Type R plugs though.
