Hi there I'm new to the b18 world and looking for any advice for an awsome build . This is going to be a weekend car and the interior is mostly stripped , need help on the ecu part and what would work for high rpm's with descent power any advice would be apreciated .

if you are not planning on any forced induction, i would get jdm b16 pistons (not CTR), and build the head with crower valvetrain and a stage 2 cam

No forced induction . As of now it just a stock b18b1 the car as of now has a full exhaust with high flow cat and 2.5 inch all the way through but lacking a header . I was reading about a stage 3 cam ?!? Or is it to drastic no nitrous either just motor but just for pissin neighbors off o the weekends lol

what are your hp goals?

Nothing too over the top I see guys talking about 200 hp but apparently that's a big goal so I would like 180 ish because it will be a one seater but yea that's about it

But it is mainly the ecu if upgrade needed I have no idea where to go lol

just building the head right and tuning should let you reach 170ish and alot more tq.

don't chip your ecu until u built ur motor to handle any changes. just my 2 cents.

The 404 cams is that the stage 2 or 3. ??? Because I would love for this thing to sound raunchy

404 is stage 3

I thought 200hp in a b18b or a, was fairly easy to get. How would a person obtain that kind of power without boost or spray?

From what I hear it's in the pistons head and tuning ... But that's a guess on my part lol I thougt about boosting it but figured just motor was more reliable

Is the turbo steup for the b1 that difficult ??

if you wanna get a 200whp non vtec b series, you will prolly spend about 3K in headwork... most ppl on a n/a non vtec build usually get 170-180whp

I'm wondering if it would be cost effective to turbo the b1 not sure of the costs lol

depends on a lot of stuff... how much you wanna spend, horsepower goals...you need to think about that before you ask any questions (not trying to be rude). a lot of ppl ask questions without thinking about the other variables in the equation.

budget? hp goals? how extensive of a build? engine management? these are some of the questions to ask yourself...

ive seen a b18b stock with a 3K turbo kit and a $800 engine management system make almost 400whp on 110 octane gas

but ive also seen someone with a 800 turbo kit and practically no engine management just make 225whp on pump gas... and there are a lot of variables b/w either setup...

answer some of those questions and then ill get back to you
