Well, as to the mags, I don't have any interest in other car manufacturers, so I end up skipping over of stuff in general mags. The one exception to that was a recent one where they put a Honda engine in an old-school Toyota! On top of that, my Honda/Acura interests are pretty narrow too. So, I subscribe to Honda Tuning, but I'll buy individual copies of other mags for the occasional story that catches my eye...

I might come off really strange...but honestly I am sick of naked f*cking hoes. First of all, they aren't good looking, and secondly, even if they were, I want a CAR magazine, not a porno or a swimsuit edition. I have wonderful sexy fiancee, thats enough woman for me....

agreed about show cars. I HATE import "show" cars...I typically dont like show cars in general. A car is made to drive. Period. haha...but no, ban hoes. I get enough p____ at home, and I dont need to have her bitching about naked hoes that I dont even want to look at. They arent even hot! ugh

hahaha...shes an auto tech for a living, she doesnt read cosmo. I just personally don't like it...and agreed about the intelligence, I never thought about that.

So earlier today,I was talking to somebody about being into imports, and this guy not being a car guy made the remark "kids that are into imports seem to be pervs, you always see swimsuit contests and..." <--I thought it was hilarious he was talking about the same thing I was...

Hardly any real tech. I like.... wait. I love hearing the story of the car... kinda like a timeline... that dipicts everything that has happened up until present day.

i love the power pages in import tuner. but i am so sick of seeing newer cars. they need to get back to the roots of shit. and spend a year doing 88 to 96 tegs and civics. not every one can afford a twin turbo 350 or supercharged g35 * drools*.. i hate all the marketing for other companys. its like if you want people to knwo your products are good build a damn car using your stuff then get featured in a mag. i dont need to wast my bath room breaks reading about how you have the cheapest lambo door conversion on the west side of the states...

My complaint is that as Kurt said ... If I wanted to look at naked girls ... I'd go in the bedroom. Another thing is that there are sooo many "show" cars in them. If it's not a normally driven car or something like that ... it's not impressive (at least to me).

what kills me is that they do the same builds over and over. or it could just be me. i am a hardcore dsm guy as well as hondas. but they never put the fun stuff in there fro the dsm's. like puting a 4g63 in a colt, eagle summit minivan, 80' somthin mirage and the conquest. i would like them to show people how its done. the srt builds and sti builds get very old. most of us dont own one or cant afford to own one. so why do they keep putting builds on cars that no one can own.

I guess my complaint is that they don't frequently revisit older cars. If they did they might do more with mine and I might be interested and buy a subscription. Their featured cars and mods just aren't realistic for me from a money standpoint, so I don't tend to read the mags much anymore. I find out most of what I need to know from friends and these various intarwebs.

The bad thing about message boards is all the misinformation or omitted info you get to chomp through. But there are gems where you really find some info thats just right for you and your situation/problem, and it was posted by people with real experience so you can hit them up with any questions and get a helpful reply. In the right situation message boards can put you in touch with the right kind of experts in your area of interest.

as for the girls...i look at it like this... Guns and Beer, Sex and Rock & Roll, and Fast Women and faster cars. but i too have a hot fiance that i'm more than happy with. but most magazines are too preocupied with the newest baddest bestest. hardly any of the cars are "real world". and 90% of them are built on borrowed money, or mommy and daddy's Trust fund. granted there are a few exceptions. tech articles mostly consist of numbers and brand names. which are nice, but i'd like to see them test the vehicles they feature. Oh but wait you don't drive trailer queens, how silly of me. i could care less how pretty it looks. i want to know how bad the car pitches and rolls at 80mph through a decresing readius right hand sweeper, and what they did to correct the understeering issue they had while pussing through said corner. i could go on for pages.

although S.S mag just came out with another sister publication. Project Car mag. i got the first issue and i liked what and how they set it up. and i don't want to totally trash all mags there are exceptions. there are a few real good tech articles out there.
