I agree with Ghettokracker71 with maintenence. But if your stuck between on getting a intake manifold or ecu, get the intake manifold and buy a new intake manifold gasket. If you have money to spare port match the intake mainfold (intake runners and tb). It's your call and your money. That's my just my input.

I think the intake manifold would be a waste of time. As is getting a "chip" for the ECU. With just bolt ons theres no need to really "chip" the ECU.

Is the chip from eBay? If it, don't waste the time or money on it. However if you've got the money, I suggest converting to OBD1. All you'll need is the distributor, ECU and a jumper harness. Once converted you can disable the O2 sensor, that'll save some money. You can also get all fancy and get rid of the resistor box and add some OBD1 injectors w/plugs.

What car is this anyway?

Essentially all you'd do is cut the resistor out and solder all the wires together. Then, get obd1 injectors and clips and solder the clips in.

Well if you look at it from a performance advantage, I don't really see one. All the big injectors require a resistor box since they are peak and hold. but aesthetically speaking, you get rid of the nasty white/tan injector plugs and the resistor box.

hmm...instead of cutting the resistor box out and solder all the wires together. I might make a plug that just plug right in for a cleaner look. After i make it I'll post some picture of what it look like.
