D-VTEC is all good! Although even with non-VTEC D like the Y7, turbo is the great equalizer. Extreme potential with turbo-D's whether VTEC or not.

Well, first of all, D series builds are at a disadvantage from the start from their sheer displacement and single-cammedness...

The reason I am allowing SOHC VTEC discussion here, is frankly, because I'm currently working on one and I find that it's just as much an underdog as the nonVTEC motors....

Also, the only D that's really worth working on other than the VTEC heads is the D16A6 which is a very narrow market...

Hence, why in the F and D series portions of the site, VTEC is certainly okay :).

Nathan

also nice quote will be that using non vtec sohc block with a vtec head is something good to play with LOL!

yes you can put the 1.6 head on the 1.5 block. now i have a question. ive always hated and been against the d-series. but i just sold my teg. and im going to a 88-91 civic. im buildin the 1.5 with a 1.6 vtec head. anything special i have to do for oil passages to vtec like you would do for ls vtec. or just remove the screw at the rear of the deck. and be ready to go.?????????????? please let me know. ready to put this together tomorrow.
